The fiber room is a serious catalog with yarn on its sleeve. The collection is big enough that browsing needs actual structure, not a gallery of pretty skeins.

Crochet, knitting, weaving, stitch dictionaries, old leaflets, magazines, pattern books, technique references, odd duplicates, messy filenames, and the notes that make a collection usable instead of merely large.

The honest part of a library

The catalog tracks duplicates and bad metadata rather than hiding them. A lot of collection work is deciding which copy is canonical, figuring out what a numeric leaflet actually is, and preserving the original filename long enough to undo a bad cleanup decision.

One repeated structure becomes cloth. The mistakes remain physical.
